Merit-Based Scholarships
Department of Art and Art History
Texas Christian University
These awards are available for students majoring in Art Education, Graphic Design or Studio Art BFA programs.
Application and Portfolio are due February 4, 2008
Merit scholarships are reserved for students who demonstrate superior talent
in art and/or design. These scholarships are awarded on the basis of a portfolio
examination, which takes place in January prior to the
academic year for which the scholarship is awarded. The scholarships are renewable
for up to three academic years (a total of four years-worth of awards) of the
student's undergraduate program. Renewals are also based on a portfolio evaluation,
as well as academic standing.
Work submitted should exhibit technical competence and formal understanding. Studio art work should demonstrate personal creative expression. Graphic design work should show insight into the use of design to solve a specific communication problem. Please read the guidelines carefully. Late or incomplete portfolios will not be accepted.
Scholarship recipients will also be inducted into the TCU Honor Society of Artists and Designers.
