Art Educator Summer Institute
On June 15-19, 2009, the Department of Art and Art History will host the 3rd annual Art Educator Summer Institute. Nationally recognized portrait artist Vilas Tonape will lead a pastel and oil portrait workshop, teaching participants how to create portraits in the classical tradition. Vilas is a dynamic and engaging educator, and he provides instruction based on the needs and interests of the participants. He is currently a professor of art in Florida, and an MFA graduate of TCU. He is also a featured artist in the April 2009 issue of Pastel magazine.
This event provides art educators with 20 CPE credits. Total enrollment in the workshop is limited to 32 participants and the registration deadline is May 15, 2009. Participants can register online at: http://www.lifelong.tcu.edu/. Once there, choose “Personal and Professional Development Courses,” then “Art Educators Summer Institute.”
